Yellowstone Moose May 2011

What are we doing!  It is snowing in May!  I hurt my foot and can't wear my hiking boots.  So I'm in open toed Birkinstocks with wool socks.  This was the first bison we saw.  It became just one of thousands.

Old Faithful isn't so impressive with gray skies and snow falling.  Where is it?

Some of the paths over the hot springs were clear.  Many were covered with snow and/or slush.   Mike and Casey are on a clear one.

The rock and thermal features were still beautiful.  Not good for pictures because the cold had more steam rising but it made for an eerie effect.

The water is so clear you can't see it in this picture.

This baby moose was the only one we saw.
