Bison - 2 hour traffic jam because of Bison

We have now had our fill of bison.  As we entered the park from the west gate, we came to an 8 mile, 2 hour traffic jam.  It was caused by thousands of bison entering the park and heading to the high country pastures

The easiest path for them is the river bottom and the road.  Bison are not something you argue with. so if they want the road, they get the road.

Since this is many miles, we saw walking, running, playing, sleeping, laying, snorting (that was scary), nursing, chasing, swimming and all manner of behavior.  It was boring at one hour.  By hour two we were so awed by the sheer magnitude of animals that it was a high point of the trip.

This is the lone elk we saw

Don waiting for Old Faithful.  This time it is blue sky.

Can't get away from those bison.

We tried to walk the lower Porcelain basin again today.  The first time there was a bison on the path and it was closed.  Today the wind is so very strong it is miserably cold out in the open.

This eagle was eating something.
