Buenos Aires and Monte Video December 2011

Wow.  European  architecture and not a native South American in sight.

Evita's balcony on the left

Changing of the guard

La Boca!  Great little Italian art neighborhood.  Evita statues in the balconies

It is early morning and the artists are just arriving

Bright colors and friendly people

Street Tango dancers getting ready to perform

Eva Peron's tomb

Lost branch of the O'Leary tribe?

$250,000 for the smallest space here.

We stayed in a lovely old hotel

The view from our room

We really enjoyed the Tango show!  What a treat.

The Opera House has beautiful architecture.

Ciao Buenos Aires

As we pull out, a crane swings out and hits us.  We have to wait until the next day for the Argentine Coast Guard to inspect us and the crane.
We finally arrive in MonteVideo, Uruguay a day late.  This is a very European city in architecture and people.

Lots of statues depicting early settlers

Nice winery tour

Lovely multi-course lunch with tango entertainment and wine

Ciao MonteVideo
