Xian - School visit - Cave home - Dairy Farm - Tang Dynasty Show

Today we got out of the cities.  Our first stop was at a local school.  We arrived for English lessons and Darlene got to be teacher.
The kids were  delightful. We were all a bit shy at first, but they loved my camera and we had a good time.

It is very hot in this area and can easily be over 100 degrees in the summer.

Some have built "cave" homes by digging a pit and then digging rooms to live in. They access it by digging a path and a tunnel.

Reggie checks out the bedroom which was quite cool and comfortable.

We took a tour of a local dairy farm where they had milking machines, but still carried pails of milk on their shoulders.

The family fixed lunch for us in their courtyard.

Cyndi, Sandi, Maria, Lorena and Renata enjoy food at the front table.
Almost all of our lunches and dinners have been chinese family style.  Lots of dishes shared by all. We didn't always know what we were eating.  I was tester quite often if the dish had evidence of chilies.  I could give it a hot rating.

This is a brick factory with bricks drying in the sun.
The Tang Dynasty Show was a splashy production show.
The costumes were spectacular and the musicians played several types of old instruments.
